God clothes our sham |
Genesis 3:21 Following their disobedient act, Adam and Eve felt shame at their nakedness and tried to hide it. Their efforts were futile, however, for God was aware of their sin. Yet he still had concern for them and gave them clothing, a foreshadowing of the divine grace that he would bestow on his people through his Son. Let us offer contrite and broken hearts for our sin and trust the Lord to cover our shame. He has promised to dress us with clothing of salvation and array us in robes of righteousness (Isaiah 61:10).

God remembers his people |
Genesis 8:1 We spend a great deal of energy simply trying to remember things. We write ourselves notes, leave reminders, and make lists, but still we often forget. Not so with God. He is always attentive to the needs of his children. Noah and his family surely took comfort from this truth when they found them- selves suddenly alone in the world. God remembered Noah and acted to save him. Noah watched as winds picked up and the waters receded, finally leaving him on dry land. So also God has seen our distress and has acted to save us, sending his Son, Jesus Christ. Let us praise God for remembering us.

The Lord remember his covenant |
Genesis 9:14-19 God's covenant with Noah was the first Old Testament covenant. It was a covenant for life on the earth. But instead of granting this covenant as a reward for something Noah did, God graciously established his covenant after he saved Noah and his family. God's promise did not depend upon any human response. No matter what people do, we can be assured that God will never again destroy the world by a flood. To remind us of his everlasting

The lord is God most high |

Genesis 14:18-20 We are overwhelmed by the majesty of mountains that rise thousands of feet above the valley floor. Their immensity makes us feel small, calling our attention to the power of the one who brought them into existence. We are also amazed by the delicate features of a newborn child, whose tiny parts took shape from one fertilized egg. The wonder of creation that surrounds us cannot be fully grasped or appreciated. We can only stand in awe at the greatness of our Creator and Lord.

The Lord fulfills his promises |
Gen 15:7 God called Abram out of Ur of the Chaldeans to a new life in a distant land. Abram had not yet seen the fulfillment of God's promises. Isaac had not been born, and Abram and Sarai were past childbearing years. Yet Abram believed God. He recognized that the Lord was faithful and trustworthy. When we know God as Abram did, we accept his promises as certain. Rejoice in the power of the Lord, for he is able to bring about all that he has promised.

The Lord is the god who sees |
Gen 16:13 God sees all things. This amazing truth should strengthen and reassure us. We may take comfort in the watchful gaze of the Lord. Like Hagar, we may journey far only to discover that we can never go beyond the reach of God. As the psalmist writes, "I can never escape from your spirit! I can never get away from your presence!" (Psalms139:7). Yet the God who sees is also the God who helps. Today, praise the God Who Sees for his providential care, for his eyes are always on us.
